Class Saints
Class Saints
All classes have chosen a Saint to help guide them in their school life. We want to celebrate the lives of the Saints and take guidance from how they lived their lives to make Christ known to all.
On the feast day of the class saint, the class will hold a special celebratory day. They will have a non-uniform day; lead a special whole school assembly and have a celebration in the afternoon. All parents and members of the parish are warmly invited to the assembly.

St Mary – Mother of Jesus
Mary was specially chosen
by God to be the mother of Jesus. She was kind and devoted herself to God. Mary was born into a Jewish family in Galilee. When Mary became engaged to Joseph, God had a plan for her to serve as Jesus Christ's mother on Earth. Mary responded with faithful obedience to God’s plan.

Saint Francis
Saint Francis is the patron saint of animals, traders, and the world around us. Francis was born in Assisi, Italy, a very long time ago. His family had a lot of money. One day, Francis got very sick and thought a lot about his life. When he felt better, he went on a special trip to Rome to pray. On the way, he saw many poor people who had no money or food. When Francis came home, he chose to live like a poor man and wore simple clothes. Francis listened to what God told him to do. Francis is remembered because he cared a lot about animals and nature. He called animals his “brothers” and “sisters”. He believed that God made all living things.

Saint Charles Borromeo
Charles was a kind and caring man who loved God very much and spent his life helping others. He worked hard to make churches and schools better so that everyone could learn about their faith and grow closer to God. St. Charles was very brave, especially during times of sickness and trouble, and he never gave up on helping the poor and the sick. People admired his kindness and courage, and they followed his example of love and service. His feast day is celebrated on November 4th, a special day when we remember all the good things he did and thank God for his life.

St Elizabeth of Hungary
St Elizabeth of Hungary (1207–1231) was a princess who became a saint because of her kindness, love and care for the poor. Even though she was very wealthy, she used her riches to build hospitals, feed the hungry, and help those in need. She showed that following Jesus means putting others first. Elizabeth died when she was only 24, but her life of generosity and faith inspired many people. She is remembered as the patron saint of charities, widows and the poor.
Year 5 & 6 have chosen St Elizabeth of Hungary to guide them through this year for many reasons, but the most poignant one is her dedication to supporting the most vulnerable of our world. They think this is a very important message and one that we hope to do more to support throughout this year.
