Class Saints

All classes have chosen a Saint to help guide them in their school life.  We want to celebrate the lives of the Saints and take guidance from how they lived their lives to make Christ known to all.

On the feast day of the class saint, the class will hold a special celebratory day. They will have a non-uniform day; lead a special whole school assembly and have a  celebration in the afternoon.  All parents and members of the parish are warmly invited to the assembly.

 

Foundation Stage

St Valentine – Patron Saint of Love

St Valentine was a Christian priest who lived in ancient Rome. He was kind and brave, and he devoted his life to helping others and serving God. St Valentine is believed to have secretly married couples when it was forbidden, showing his belief in the importance of love and commitment. He remained faithful to his Christian beliefs and is remembered for his courage, kindness, and sacrifice.

Feast Day: 14th February

Year 1 & 2 

Saint Frances of Rome

‘Prayer is the key that opens the heart of God.’

Saint Frances of Rome was born in Rome in 1384. She was born into a rich family that was devoted to God. At 11 years old, Saint Frances of Rome decided that she was going to be a nun. However, her father wanted her to marry a noble man. So when she was 13 years old, she became a wife and started a family. Saint Frances of Rome loved her family and cared for them. Her love for God was strong, so she always found ways to pray and serve Him. Saint Frances of Rome felt her guardian angel near her, who guided, protected, and inspired her throughout her life. When war and

disease struck in Rome, she helped people who were hungry, sick or homeless. She gave food and clothing to many people. She believed that serving others was a way to serve God. She even opened up her home as a hospital. After her husband passed away, she created a small group of women who lived together and prayed together, devoting their lives to God. They were called the Oblates of Mary. She passed away in 1440. In 1608, Saint Frances of Rome became a Saint. Her feast day is 9th March.

Year 1/2 will use Saint Frances of Rome as a role model by being kind, helping others and caring for our families. She teaches us that God is always with us in our everyday lives and that we must listen to Him to guide us.

Year 3 & 4

St. Carlo Acutis

St Carlo Acutis (1991–2006) was a young Catholic who showed that holiness is possible in everyday life. Born in London and raised in Italy, Carlo had a deep love for Jesus in the Eucharist and attended Mass regularly from a young age. He was known for his kindness, generosity to those in need, and his desire to help others grow closer to God. Although he lived only to the age of 15, his joyful faith and commitment to prayer continue to inspire people around the world. He was canonised as a saint in 2025, becoming the Catholic Church’s first millennial saint.

Carlo was also gifted in technology and used his computer skills to share the Gospel. He created a website documenting Eucharistic miracles from around the world, helping many people learn more about the Real Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist. Often called “God’s influencer,” he showed that modern technology can be used for good and for spreading faith. His famous words, “The Eucharist is my highway to heaven,” remind us to keep Jesus at the centre of our lives and encourage young people to use their talents in service of God and others.

St Lucy

St Lucy was a young Christian who lived in Sicily over 1,700 years ago. She loved God very much and wanted to spend her life serving Him. Lucy was kind, brave and generous, giving her money and possessions to people who were poor and in need. Even when she was told to give up her faith, she refused because she trusted God completely. Lucy died as a martyr for her beliefs and is remembered for her courage and hope. She is the patron saint of the blind and those with eye illnesses because her name means "light", reminding us that Jesus is the Light of the World.

Year 5 & 6 have chosen St Lucy to guide us through this year because her courage, kindness and faith inspire us to stand up for what is right, even when it is difficult. We hope to be a light to others by showing compassion, making good choices and helping everyone in our school community feel valued and l
