Welcome to the Foundation Stage!
Meet Our Foundation Stage Team
Mrs Whitwam - Class Teacher
Mrs Hall - Early Years Practitioner
Our Class Saint
St Mary – Mother of Jesus

Mary was specially chosen by God to be the mother of Jesus. She was kind and devoted herself to God. Mary was born into a Jewish family in Galilee. When Mary became engaged to Joseph, God had a plan for her to serve as Jesus Christ's mother on Earth. Mary responded with faithful obedience to God’s plan.
Feast Day – August 15th
Curriculum Goals across the Foundation Stage
Autumn 2
Our topic for this half term is ‘Into the Woods’. We are going to explore the season of autumn further, specifically looking at animals that hibernate. We will also be starting this half term looking at the celebration of Bonfire night, followed by the Celebration of the Festival of light, Diwali. We will explore both of these occasions and how they are celebrated by people in our world.
We also have an exciting half term as it will be the first time we will go onto the school trip together to visit someone special! This will lead us perfectly into the beginning of Christmas celebrations and of course our lovely Christmas Nativity!

Please let us know of "Magic Moments" when you feel that your child has learnt anything new as this will allow us to provide next steps in their learning.
This can be sent to us through the Evidence Me APP
These magic moments can be something you have achieved a home – riding a bike, dressing yourself, helping at home! Anything at all, big or small!
If you have not already please pass on your email and download the Evidence me app. You will find and be able to share observations on here from school and home.

Each week the children will have a focus story, a rhyme of the week (these will be found in our weekly parent newsletter)
The children will also bring home a library book each week (Wednesday). This will need to be returned each week. The children will choose their own library book.
Nursery – Library books, picture books, word purse, school diary
Reception – Library book, phonics book, word purse and school diary.
Please read school books at least x3 weekly and sign school diary.
READING EVERY DAY WILL HAVE THE MOST IMPACT!

Please bring in your P.E bag and ensure that ALL clothes are clearly labelled. P.E bags will remain in school and we will send them home at the end of each half term
