2018 marked 100 years since the end of World War 1. At Our Lady of Grace we commemorated this anniversary with a display of poppies outside the school. These were made from recycled plastic bottles which were painted by the children.
Head boy Daniel Amison represented the school at the Biddulph Festival of Remembrance. His reading of "Strange Meeting" by Wilfred Owen was so commendable that we received a letter from the chairman of Staffordshire Moorlands District Council applauding Daniel for his performance.
A group of our Year 5 & 6 children visited the National Memorial Arboretum on a trip organised by Biddulph Town Council. The children took part in a tour of the monuments and a poppy craft activity.
In our final mark of the centenary children, staff and parents joined in Biddulph`s annual Remembrance Parade on 11th November, observing the national two minute silence.
Biddulph Festival Launch Parade 2018
Children, staff and parents from Our Lady of Grace took part in this year`s Biddulph Festival Launch Parade.
The theme was "Out Of This World" and our children attended in Star Wars costumes. They all looked magnificent and coped amazingly on what was a very hot day!
